Food and beverage (F&B) operator SSP America, a division of SSP Group, has opened a new restaurant from Asian-themed cuisine brand Shōjō in Terminal C at Boston International Airport, Massachusetts.

Shōjō is the first of three locally owned restaurants SSP is slated to open at the gateway over the next year. Temazcal Tequila Cantina will open in spring 2019, and Boston’s very own Tasty Burger is set to open in 2020.

Founded in 2012 by cousins Brian and Brendan Moy, Shōjō serves up modern spins on Asian cuisine, with a drink selection that includes a variety of Japanese spirits. With a focus on small sharable plates, diners are encouraged to try a range of items, tapas style. The menu changes seasonally to incorporate the best ingredients available. Favorites include The Shojonator with smoked bacon and kimcheese on a steamed bun, Duck Fat Hand-Cut Fries and Monkey Wings. Highlights also include Shōjō’s Sake selection, as well as a wide choice of specialty craft drinks and Tiki-style cocktails.

Shōjō has received local as well as national accolades, including Boston Magazine’s ‘Best Chinatown Restaurant,’ Time Out Magazine’s ‘Top 10 Best Ramen in America’ and Eater’s ‘38 Essential Boston restaurants’.

Brendan Moy, Shōjō co-owner, said, “Boston is a city like none other. It’s filled to the brim with many intricate layers of diversity, history, culture and wonder – all of which add up to infinitely more than the sum of their parts. Shōjō strives to do exactly that. From the unassumingly world-class cocktails, to the chef-driven whimsical fusion bites, Shōjō delivers a top-notch experience while remaining approachable and comfortable.”

Bob Stanton, vice president, business development, enthused, “SSP America is delighted to be opening Shōjō at BOS. Shōjō brings a truly unique and innovative concept with a chef-driven menu and creative craft cocktail program – offering something for all passengers. SSP has worked closely with Brian and Brendon Moy to authentically replicate their famous Chinatown brand airside. We know that visitors and locals alike will love this wonderfully unique, only-in-Boston dining experience. At SSP America, we’re passionate about bringing cool, authentic restaurants that reflect a taste of place.”
