Airport Dimensions has partnered with banking group BBVA to open a premium lounge at Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM), which the companies say will be the first dedicated airport lounge introduced by a Peruvian financial institution.

The lounge will be located in the international departures area and is scheduled to open by the end of the year. Access will be offered to BBVA’s premier customers as part of the bank’s broader customer offering.

Southwest Airlines has unveiled plans for its first airport lounge network, with locations set to open in Austin, Baltimore, Honolulu and Nashville, and at least seven more planned across the airline’s system in the coming years.

The lounges are being developed in partnership with Chase, combining Southwest’s hospitality with the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network. Each location will feature locally inspired dining, design and amenities plus travel benefits currently offered through the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network, according to Southwest.

Menzies Aviation has opened a new Pearl Lounge at Hurghada International Airport (HRG) in Egypt, the third Pearl Lounge at that airport and the 24th in the country.

Situated in Terminal 1, the international lounge operates 24 hours a day with seating for up to 50 guests. It is open to all travelers via walk-in or online booking, with amenities including complimentary wi-fi, hot and cold buffet options, and non-alcoholic beverages, including halal and vegetarian choices.

Airport Dimensions, operator of The Club VIP lounge at Jorge Chávez International Airport, has opened a new domestic departures lounge at the facility, expanding its premium travel portfolio at the Lima site.

Domestic flights account for approximately 60% of total passenger traffic at Jorge Chávez, with the airport welcoming 7.38 million domestic passengers in the first half of 2026. According to Airport Dimensions’ Airport Experiences 2026 (AX26) research, 62% of travelers are willing to pay for upgraded airport services and experiences.

Air India has announced that it will operate out of John F Kennedy International Airport’s new Terminal 6 (JFK T6) from 2028.

Other airlines that have announced movements to T6 include Star Alliance members Air Canada, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Austrian Airlines, Avianca, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, and TAP Air Portugal – in addition to Aer Lingus, Cathay Pacific, Condor, JetBlue, Kuwait Airways, Icelandair, and Norse Atlantic.

Air India’s existing codeshare on interline partnerships with many of these carriers will offer passengers seamless connections from the same terminal to onward destinations across the Americas.

Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) has opened an imaginative, interactive play space as part of the airport’s new concourse expansion. Created in partnership with The Scott Family Amazeum, ‘Wonder Wing’ brings the Amazeum’s hands-on, interactive learning experience into the airport and gives young travelers a place to play, explore and connect with aviation while they wait for their flights.

The play area includes several aviation-themed features designed specifically for children, including a child-size air traffic control tower, a live feed to the real airport tower radio, and real airplane parts incorporated into the space.

As it approaches its 40th year in 2027, London City Airport has announced that it will open its first luxury pre-flight hospitality experience, in partnership with Swissport International‘s airport hospitality brand, Aspire Pre‑Flight Hospitality. 

The bespoke lounge, which is unaffiliated with any airline, will be accessible to all passengers traveling through London City Airport, via online or walk-in purchase and, in time, through an annual membership.

The announcement comes at a historic time for London City Airport as it moves ahead with its ambitious growth plans to reach passenger numbers of nine million a year.

Ostend-Bruges Airport and catering partner Erasmus Catering have opened the renovated food and beverage area and expanded VIP lounge ahead of the summer holiday season, following renovation work carried out this spring.

The F&B area has received a complete makeover, with a redesigned layout and fully updated interior, building on an initial renovation of the departure zone in 2017 that included an expanded shop and F&B establishment.

Aspire Pre-Flight Hospitality, Swissport’s airport hospitality brand, has announced a new 300-seat lounge at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2, set to open in late August 2026.

The opening will be Aspire’s third lounge at Manchester and its second in Terminal 2, following recent UK expansions in Liverpool and Birmingham. The lounge is positioned away from the main departures area and includes spaces for groups and families, dining areas, a quiet zone and private work rooms.

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has launched a global campaign called ‘The Starting Line,’ positioning its airport hospitality portfolio as the starting point for travelers heading to this summer’s international sporting events.

The campaign spans PPG’s lounges, hotels, dining outlets and passenger services across multiple continents, with activations timed around major football tournaments taking place this summer.
