Independent lounge membership program Priority Pass has presented its Global Airport Lounge of the Year award to the Plaza Premium Lounge located in Terminal 2 (T2) at London Heathrow Airport.

Plaza Premium’s 87,000ft2 lounge combines sleek interior design and contemporary British culture with standout features including a ceiling centerpiece, private bedrooms, luxurious shower rooms and a wellness spa. Plaza Premium Lounge was also the global winner in the Best Quality of Refreshments category with its signature Chicken Tikka Masala dish proving very popular among frequent flyers.

Other winners included the Petra Lounge at Amman Queen Alia International Airport as the best lounge in Africa and the Middle East; the Asiana Lounge at Seoul Incheon International Airport for the Asia Pacific region; The Club at San Jose Mineta International Airport for North America; and the VIP Lounge at Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo International Airport for Latin America and the Caribbean.

As our network grows, so too does our knowledge and understanding of the changing global demands of the 21st century traveler, something that informs every level of service in the lounges in the Priority Pass network.”

“We congratulate Plaza Premium Lounge at London Heathrow on achieving this accolade. Winning lounges must demonstrate the strongest commitment to individual excellence and investment in customer experience, something that Plaza Premium Lounge has clearly excelled at.”

Priority Pass received more than 60,000 ratings from its members in this year’s awards using the lounge rating function on the new Priority Pass website and app. Its members provide ratings on a set of criteria covering overall lounge quality, refreshments, staff, business facilities and ambience.
