In partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) Animal Care & Control, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) played host to a kitten cuddle event on International Cat Day in August 8.

The event was part of Charlotte Douglas International’s ‘TLC from CLT program’, an initiative to thank passengers for choosing to travel through CLT.

While Charlotte Douglas has a popular Canine Crew comprising 31 four-legged volunteers, it was the first kitten cuddle at CLT with several felines on-site. As part of the fun, cat ear headbands were gifted to customers.

The event sought to bring smiles to passengers and educate travelers about pet adoption. Two cats were adopted during the event. CMPD Animal Care & Control currently has more than 250 cats and dogs seeking a home.
