North American travel retailer Paradies Lagardère has announced that its customers donated more than two million items of need to members of the US military in 2019.
The company’s Treat Our Troops program gives travelers, as well as airline and airport employees, the opportunity to purchase goods – from socks and snacks to phone cards and sundries – which are then distributed to military personnel overseas through the United Service Organizations (USO) and other military service organizations.
The Treat Our Troops program also includes free meals for troops from Memorial Day to Independence Day, and ‘pay it forward’ opportunities in which customers donate meals for active or retired military personnel. Paradies Lagardère operates similar programs in airports throughout Canada, enabling customers to donate items which are then distributed to community food banks.
