<p>LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP), the manager and developer of Terminal B, said that although other airports have used holograms for entertainment or static welcome messages, its interactive Guest Experience Ambassador Hologram is the first of its kind in the industry.</p>
<p>Powered by Proto, a hologram hardware platform, and Holomedia’s AI Concierge Wayfinder application, Bridget offers a human-centered approach to digital assistance.</p>

<p>The proposed acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close in mid-2027, follows Amadeus’s 2024 purchase of Vision-Box and is intended to strengthen its position in airport and border technology.</p>
<p>IPS, headquartered in France, provides biometric and identity services to more than 600 public- and private-sector customers, and employs around 3,300 people globally.</p>

<p>The airline plans to install the technology at scale at its largest hub, starting with the Terminal C Pier Expansion. It said the move will make it the first major US network carrier to roll out Dormakaba electronic boarding gates across a major hub airport.</p>
<p>“Boarding plays a key role in how customers experience the final moments before their flight, and electronic boarding gates will further elevate that experience, creating a more seamless and consistent process,” said Heather Garboden, chief customer office, American Airlines.</p>

<p>The new area was unveiled on April 1, 2026, with a ceremony attended by company executives and airport stakeholders, including CEO Yoshiyuki Yamaya and co-CEO Benoit Rulleau.</p>
<p>The redevelopment is being delivered in phases to support growing passenger traffic at the airport. The new domestic section introduces a range of upgrades aimed at improving passenger flow and reducing congestion.</p>

A phased activation of automated bag drop services is also ongoing.</p>

<p>The new airport operations system (AOS) brings together management of aircraft movements, gates, check-in counters, baggage systems and flight information into one platform, and gives airport teams, airlines, and ground handlers a real-time view of operations, helping them plan better and respond faster to changes.</p>
<p>For passengers, Geneva has also expanded its self-service bag drop – introduced in late 2023, the system now includes new features to speed up check-in and reduce queues and is available at all counters.</p>

Once enrolled, they’ll have immediate access to Clear’s nationwide network of 150+ lanes to reduce wait time at the checkpoint.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The expanded list of countries builds on eligibility already extended to travelers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK, who gained access to Clear+ last month.</p>

<p>The report is based on a survey of more than 7,500 passengers at airports in 25 countries around the word. Answers were taken before and after landing.</p>
<p>The results found that many passengers are demanding shorter wait times, seamless intermodal trips and real-time updates they can manage from their phones.</p>
<p>Nearly two in three say they want faster airport processing, and 42% want a single ticket covering air, rail and road.</p>

<p>The 111,000m2, 30-gate facility features 66 self-service TS6 kiosks, US Exit biometric face pods at select gates, and SITA Airport Vision flight information display systems throughout.</p>
<p>Airport Vision electronic signage directs passengers in real time to airline counters, and integration with third-party sensors shows live security wait times before passengers enter screening.</p>

Kennedy International Airport, has announced that Materna IPS will provide its hybrid self-service bag-drop (SSBD) equipment for the new terminal.</p>
<p>Terminal 6 will deploy Materna’s Flex.Go hybrid ID verification and bag drop system when it opens in 2026. The biometric-enabled equipment is designed to enable airline passengers to verify their identification and drop their bags on the belt and go in less than 30 seconds.</p>
