Schiphol Airport tests Apple Watch app

LinkedIn +

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands has adapted its smartphone app for use on the Apple Watch and is currently trialing the product with members of its frequent flyer service Privium.

The specially selected Privium members will receive an Apple Watch to use during their stay at the airport, which will then be collected on departure. The Apple Watch app provides passengers with general travel information much like the smartphone app, but also includes extra functionalities such as personal flight information and notifications. Participating members will also be asked to provide feedback at the end of the trial including ways to improve future versions.

The official Schiphol App has been downloaded more than 1.5 million times and was created in partnership with app developers M2Mobi. The trial will run until July 20, 2015.
