Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in Texas, USA, has kicked off the 2015 American football season by breaking a Guinness World Records title for ‘most signatures on a piece of sports memorabilia’.

The event took place in Terminal A in front of the Dallas Cowboys Club restaurant, where 702 signatures were collected on a giant customized inflated football, beating the previous record of 516 signatures. A Guinness World Records adjudicator was on site to judge and witness the event.

In addition to breaking the Guinness World Records title, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport transformed the recently renovated Terminal A into a mock-up of a tailgate party. This included an interactive running back/football challenge game, with the chance to win match tickets, signed helmets and gift cards. The Pepsi Pre-Flight Drills interactive game will remain stationed inside Terminal A at Gates A12 and B29 until October 10, 2015.

Mazhar Butt, senior vice president at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, said, “We pride ourselves in offering passengers a fun, unique and memorable experience while traveling through our airport. Our tailgate party to kick off this year’s football season, combined with the rare opportunity to be part of breaking a Guinness World Records title, is another example of our commitment to providing an unique and interactive customer experience.”
