German airline Lufthansa is set to open five new luxury lounges in the new Terminal 2 (T2) Satellite at Munich Airport.

The new T2 facility will officially open in April 2016 and will be jointly owned by the airport – Flughafen München GmbH (FMG) – and Lufthansa. The first class lounge will be available to first class and HON-circle members, whereas the remaining four lounges will be available to business class, frequent flyers and passengers with Lufthansa senator status.

Thomas Klühr, board member for finance and Munich hub, Lufthansa, said, “The new Lufthansa lounges in the T2 Satellite are a further leap forward to provide passengers with more quality and a five-star service. The light atmosphere and direct views over the apron will capture our customers’ imagination.”

Lufthansa’s first class lounge will be located on the top floor of the new facility and will contain a bar area, luxury bathrooms, a smoking lounge and several bedrooms and working spaces. It will cover an area of approximately 10,760ft².

The airline’s senator and business lounges will be located on the non-Schengen level and will cover approximately 32,290ft². Each lounge will have panoramic views of the runways and will feature a fully tended bar, buffet area, bistro area, workspaces, televisions and shower rooms.
