The new check-in hall for Terminal 2 (T2) at Zurich Airport in Switzerland is nearing completion with operations scheduled to begin on October 28, 2015. The renovated hall in the northern section of the terminal is part of a wider renovation project, which began in 2010 and is scheduled to be fully completed in the second half of 2016.

The renovation has given the building an operational, visual and commercial upgrade, including an open ceiling design that creates a well-lit, spacious area. The new counter arrangement provides capacity for 16 more check-in counters when compared to the old area, bringing the total to 104. The improvements to the infrastructure not only enhance the visual appearance but also improve the overview, making the facility more passenger friendly.

Passengers and visitors can already enter T2 through a refurbished walkway where they can take new ascending travelators to the check-in hall or escalators to Arrival 2.
