Wisconsin’s Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) is now offering healthy, fresh food options to travelers, 24 hours a day.
Healthy food specialist Farmer’s Fridge has opened two fresh-food vending machines inside the airport. As Farmer’s Fridge makes all of its food fresh daily and restocks the fridges overnight, Milwaukee travelers are now able to buy fresh food items such as salads, sandwiches, wraps and granola from self-service vending machines at any time.
The meals and snacks are served in recyclable jars, and all food that isn’t purchased is donated to Milwaukee-area food projects.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer travelers at MKE fresh, healthy, restaurant-quality food options 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at a similar price-point to many fast-food options,” said Milwaukee County executive Chris Abele.
The two new vending machines are located in the Concession Mall and in Concourse D adjacent to the Leinie Lodge.
