Navya, a company active in the driverless vehicle sector, has showcased its Navya Arma autonomous vehicle at Passenger Terminal Expo. The company is providing visitors to the event with live demonstrations of the vehicle to show how it can be used for transporting workers and passengers around the airport.
According to the company, Navya Arma is a safe, reliable and comfortable driverless vehicle that can carry up to 15 people. It has been fitted with navigation technology including stereo vision, GPS and infrared sensors. It can travel up to 50km/h and has a remote centralized control unit that checks its movements. An emergency braking system can also be accessed if there is a problem. The vehicle is 100% electric and operates on inductive charging batteries with a flexible rate of durability ranging from eight to 24 hours.
“There are many issues associated with driverless vehicles but we are focussed on three main objectives: safety, reliability and comfort,” said Christophe Sapet, CEO of Navya.
