India’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has held security exercises at Tirupati and Delhi airports.
The annual Anti-Hijacking Mock Exercise (AHME) at Tirupati simulated the landing of a hijacked aircraft in accordance with the established contingency and Anti-Hijacking Exercise plan. CISF, state police, Airports Authority of India, government agencies, airlines and other stakeholders participated in the exercise to assess operational preparedness.
CISF said on September 3 that the exercise reinforced inter-agency coordination, timely mobilization and effective crisis response.
Meanwhile, a joint counterterrorism mock exercise was conducted at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. The exercise, which included CISF, Delhi Police and other stakeholders, focused on validating real-time crisis response, strengthening inter-agency coordination, ensuring mobilization and enhancing preparedness to effectively respond to emerging security threats.
