Heathrow CEO Thomas Woldbye delivered the keynote address at this year’s PTE World Conference in London. PTW caught up with him afterward to hear his thoughts on the need to embrace digitalization and take inspiration from within and outside the industry to improve the passenger experience. He also outlined some of the challenges of expanding the airport within such a constrained footprint: “We have to lift ourselves on the spot because we can’t really expand the spot we’re at. We do that with innovation, technology and digitalization. We need to do more within the limited space that we’ve been given.”
Woldbye heaped praise on the conference, highlighting just why it’s such an important fixture on the industry’s calendar: “PTE has grown to become one of the central conferences of the aviation industry, with so many people coming together. It gives small and medium-sized enterprises the opportunity to showcase their innovation. We need all the innovation we can get – not just what we do ourselves but also what others can bring.”
