Lagardère Travel Retail Poland has opened L’Officina, a new Italian restaurant at Warsaw Chopin Airport, the latest addition to its portfolio of proprietary dining concepts.

Situated in the airport’s public arrivals area, L’Officina serves passengers, employees, visitors and those meeting arriving travelers. The menu centers on freshly prepared pizzas and focaccia, alongside Italian snacks, artisan gelato, mini desserts, and a selection of Italian wines, beers and Espressamente Illy coffee.

The concept, including its visual identity, interior design, menu and customer experience, was developed entirely in-house by Lagardère Travel Retail Poland’s teams.

Terminal 5 at John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) has welcomed nearly a dozen new dining and retail outlets this summer, part of a multimillion-dollar refresh led by JetBlue, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Fraport USA. The terminal will feature more than 40 new shops, restaurants, communal spaces and art installations inspired by New York City and its boroughs.

In June, the terminal celebrated the grand openings of Italian food destination Eataly, along with New York culinary names Nom Wah and the Halal Guys.

Perth Airport has unveiled a refreshed T1 International retail and hospitality precinct, timed ahead of the winter school holiday period, when international travel volumes are expected to reach over 50,000 travelers on peak days.

The refresh has introduced 14 new and revitalized outlets across the terminal, expanding the mix of dining, shopping, local produce, travel essentials and premium experiences available to passengers. The project brought together global retail operators and local brands, with partners including Avolta, Lagardère AWPL, Delaware North, SSP, WHSmith and Smarte Carte.

The first airport-based Mountain Culture craft brewery venues are set to open at Western Sydney International (Nancy Bird Walton) Airport (WSI), Australia’s new 24-hour global gateway.

In fact, the acclaimed Blue Mountains brewer will have two sites in WSI’s integrated terminal, servicing both domestic and international passengers in a partnership with Airport Retail Group Australia (ARGA).

According to WSI CEO Simon Hickey, the Mountain Culture venues will help bring an authentic sense of place to the terminal.

Neir’s Tavern, one of New York City’s oldest bars, has opened a new location at Terminal 8 of John F Kennedy International Airport, through a partnership with MERA, ASUR Airports, American Airlines and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Founded in 1829 in Woodhaven in Queens, Neir’s Tavern is now one of 20 locally inspired concessions to open at the terminal as part of a US$125m commercial development program delivered with terminal commercial operator ASUR Airports and American Airlines.

Ostend-Bruges Airport and catering partner Erasmus Catering have opened the renovated food and beverage area and expanded VIP lounge ahead of the summer holiday season, following renovation work carried out this spring.

The F&B area has received a complete makeover, with a redesigned layout and fully updated interior, building on an initial renovation of the departure zone in 2017 that included an expanded shop and F&B establishment.

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has launched a global campaign called ‘The Starting Line,’ positioning its airport hospitality portfolio as the starting point for travelers heading to this summer’s international sporting events.

The campaign spans PPG’s lounges, hotels, dining outlets and passenger services across multiple continents, with activations timed around major football tournaments taking place this summer.

Airport hospitality group OTG has opened three New York dining brands at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 5, as part of an ongoing commercial redevelopment of the facility.

Melt Shop, The Halal Guys and Nom Wah Tea Parlor are now open in the terminal, offering food drawn from New York City’s restaurant culture.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has approved a new round of concessions contracts spanning Terminals A, B, E and the future Terminal F, bringing a mix of North Texas brands, national quick-service names and community-focused concepts to travelers.

The approvals, made by the DFW airport board of directors, include Fort Worth-based Ampersand Coffee, Dallas-Fort Worth staples Mi Cocina and Whataburger, Fort Worth-inspired Stockyards Bar & Grill/Cowtown Supply Co., and North Texas-founded brands Cookie Society, Mama Moore’s and Audrey’s Popcorn.

Avolta has opened four new food and beverage outlets at Kansai International Airport (KIX). The 500m² portfolio forms part of the fourth and final phase of the Terminal 1 renovation project.

The new offer includes several firsts for Japan’s airport F&B market, according to Avolta.

Fresh is introduced to Japan for the first time, offering quick-serve food focused on fresh, convenient, health-conscious options. The menu includes Japanese-inspired pastas, salad bowls, rice burgers, sandwiches and smoothies.
