Retail operator Dufry is set to open Spain’s first GAP clothing store at Málaga – Costa del Sol Airport. It will be GAP’s largest airport store in the world covering approximately 980ft2 of retail space.

The new store will be located in the commercial area of the terminal and will be fully accessible to the airport’s 14 million annual travelers. Shoppers will be able to choose from a wide range of classic clothing items from collections including Gap, GapKids and babyGap.

Julián Díaz, CEO for Dufry, said, “Dufry is very proud that GAP has entrusted us with opening its first store in Spain, the worldwide largest in an airport. It is a pleasure for us to work with one of the world’s major fashion brands.”

Stefan Laban, senior vice president of Gap International, said, “We are thrilled to bring Gap’s casual American style to more customers in Europe. Given the high affinity and brand awareness towards Gap with the Spanish consumers, we felt partnering with Dufry to create branded shopping experiences in Malaga Airport, as well as airports across Spain, is a terrific next step in our global expansion plans.”
