Emirates has announced that it will now offer customers the IATA Travel Pass solution when flying to 10 cities, with the company planning to extend the pass to all routes across its network. Alongside this, Emirates has formed a partnership with Alhosn, the UAE’s official app for Covid-19 related contact tracing and health documentation, enabling smoother and more convenient travel.

“Over the past months, we have really accelerated our biometric, contactless and digital travel verification projects to provide our customers with even greater convenience and assurance when they fly with Emirates,” commented Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ chief operating officer. “From our biometrics path at Dubai International [DXB] to initiatives like the IATA Travel Pass and integrations with the health authority databases, these projects deliver multiple benefits, including better customer experiences, the reduced use of paper, and improved efficiency and reliability in travel document checks. We are grateful for the support from the authorities and our industry partners in the successful deployment of these projects, which strengthen Emirates’ and Dubai’s world-leading aviation capabilities.”

Customers flying between Dubai, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Istanbul, New York JFK, Moscow, Frankfurt, Charles De Gaulle and Amsterdam can now use the IATA Travel Pass to access Covid-19 related travel information. This includes where to find PCR test labs and the management of Covid-19 travel documentation such as vaccination and PCR test results.

Available to both iOS and Android users, the IATA Travel Pass app can also be used by customers with non-biometric passports.

Starting this July, Emirates is to integrate the Alhosn app with the company’s check-in systems, expanding and continuing its ongoing integration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). This will enable customers traveling from the UAE to benefit from quick digital retrieval and verification of Covid-19 medical records.

Emirates state that any Covid-19 health information accessed via the Alhosn app for check-in will be deleted from the company’s systems after check-in is completed.
