A new white paper published by baggage handling specialists, Crisplant, assesses the impact of upgrading existing ECAC2-compliant screening systems to the new European Civil Aviation Conference Standard 3 (ECAC3) regulations.

The white paper offers practical advice on key factors which will enable airport operations executives and airport design consultants to make informed decisions early in the upgrade process.
Starting with a description of the typical four or five-stage ECAC2 screening process, the paper compares it to the three-stage ECAC3 process and discusses its impact on system design, capacity, redundancy and layout. It also assesses different levels of compliance and implementation in addition to CAPEX and OPEX.
