The City and County of San Francisco has reached an agreement with Vancouver Airport Authority for the installation of 40 BorderXpress Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks at San Francisco International Airport.
The APC kiosks help to expedite the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) process by up to 50% and can be used by US and Canadian passport holders, as well as US permanent residents and international travelers with Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval. This includes Australia, Japan, Germany and the UK. The service is available without pre-registration or user fees.
San Francisco International is the latest airport to implement the BorderXpress kiosks following installations at Queen Beatrix International in Aruba, and Lynden Pindling International in Nassau in The Bahamas. The kiosks will be fully operational at San Francisco by March 2015.
