Cargo drone developer Dronamics has expanded its drone-delivery network to Mannheim City Airport (MHG) in Germany and Odense’s Hans Christian Andersen Airport (ODE) in Denmark.
Both airports will host the Dronamics Black Swan cargo aircraft to provide same-day delivery to approximately six million people within a one-hour drive of the launch sites. Each aircraft has a capacity of 350kg and a flying range of up to 2,500km.
The expansion sees the Dronamics European droneport network grow to a total of 42 locations in 14 countries. After the unveiling of the first Black Swan in December 2021, Dronamics has scheduled its first commercial flights connecting Malta and Italy in 2022, followed by a gradual rollout to other airports in the growing network.
The droneport in ODE will be hosted at the UAS Denmark Test Center at the airport. Michael Larsen, the head of the center, commented, “We are very pleased to welcome Dronamics to UAS Denmark Test Center. Dronamics’ vision of enabling same-day shipping over long distances is a perfect match with our ambitions of leading the integration of manned and unmanned air traffic.
