Ramport Aero, the developer for Ramenskoye International Airport in Moscow, has selected WeKey Consulting to supply and install the airport’s new state-of-the-art baggage handling system.

The airport is set to open at the beginning of 2016 and is anticipated to serve 1.8 million passengers in its first year. The airport will be able to handle a maximum capacity of 1,080 passengers per hour, which will require the baggage handling system to process 3,600 items per hour.

Under the terms of the tender, WeeKey Consulting will supply all the necessary inspection equipment, explosives detection systems, baggage handling systems and related technical furniture as well as ensure the timely installation of the supplied equipment.

The equipment will be in full compliance with the requirements of aviation security and airport operations in the Russian Federation, as well as the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
