Travelers can now enjoy a Canadian Football League-themed dining experience at Edmonton International Airport in Alberta, Canada, following the opening of the new Edmonton Eskimos Sports Bar by restaurateur HMSHost.

The venue has been adorned with Edmonton Eskimos memorabilia throughout, including murals that celebrate the team’s history in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Large televisions ensure that guests can take in the game wherever they are seated, while relaxing with a drink from a broad selection of beers, wine and cocktails.

Passengers can also choose from game day-inspired cuisine including Green and Gold Nachos, Championship Wings and Game-day Chili featuring chunks of ancho-infused beef, sour cream, green onions and garlic bread.

Kent Vanden Oever, vice president of business development, HMSHost, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Edmonton International Airport and the Edmonton Eskimos to bring travelers this unique dining experience that spotlights Edmontonians love for one of the most successful teams in CFL history. With great food and drinks along with a fun sports atmosphere, Edmonton Eskimos Sports Bar is the perfect stop for traveling fans that will have them cheering all the way to their gate.”

Len Rhodes, president and CEO of the Edmonton Eskimos, said, “This new Edmonton Eskimos Sports Bar is a means for us to extend our Green and Gold brand to our loyal fans when they are traveling. Such an endeavor is contingent upon having strong partners such as HMSHost and the airport. We could not be more excited.”

Tom Ruth, president and CEO, Edmonton Airport, said, “This partnership with HMSHost and the Edmonton Eskimos is sure to be a crowd pleaser for our passengers. We have a long history of collaborating with the Eskimos, and HMSHost has done an incredible job with this restaurant, so we’re proud to offer our passengers this unique, first-of-its-kind, family-friendly dining option.”
