Travel hospitality group OTG introduced its flo app today (May 12) on the Apple Watch for use by restaurant managers at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, USA. flo provides managers with real-time updates on kitchen operations, customer feedback, inventory levels, and sales performance.

The app is already part of OTG’s iOS-based ecosystem that leverages a network of 6,000 iPads across five major airports, as well as iPhones and now the Apple Watch. flo is used by both passengers and airport staff and has led to double-digit sales increases at restaurants where it has been deployed. OTG plans to incorporate an additional 7,000 iPads to the network over the next 18 months.

Rick Blatstein, CEO at OTG, said, “Our business is centered around our customers, and the understanding that their time is extremely valuable. We have invested significantly in technology to ensure the efficiency of our operations, and the Apple Watch is an ideal platform to enable us to respond even faster.

“flo marks a major milestone for our technology platform, which we see having a profound benefit for restaurants both inside and outside of the airport space.”
