Hannover Airport in Germany has recruited 28 young trainees, the largest number of trainees welcomed in one year than ever before.

Over 10 different apprenticeships were offered this year including roles in electrical engineering, marketing and sales, office management, and safety and security.

According to the airport, 19 junior staff have started their training, two at Aircargo Services Hannover, six at AirIT Systems and one on a 12-month internship in electrical engineering.

To support this initiative, Hannover Airport is also hosting a series of Welcome Days for young recruits, at which the trainees receive insights into airports and their typical future working day. These events also include safety training, first aid courses, lectures, and opportunities to meet management and other colleagues.

Additionally, for the first time after the Covid-19 pandemic, the airport’s traditional trainee trip to the Harz mountains in Northern Germany will go ahead in September this year.
