Restaurateur SSP has secured a contract with airport operator Avinor to open three new concessions at Bergen Airport in Norway. It is the first concession contract that SSP has secured at the airport since it opened in 1955.

The new offerings include an O’Learys bar and restaurant, an Upper Crust sandwich kiosk, and a Point food and beverage outlet. The new development is part of a project to double the commercial area of the airport to provide improved and more diverse options to travelers. The new outlets are due to open in 2017.

Morten Solberg Nilsen, managing director, SSP Norway and Denmark, said, “We are delighted that SSP is now a part of the offering at Bergen Airport and we are pleased to introduce some of our most successful brands to its customers.

“At Bergen Airport, travelers tend to spend a larger than average percentage of their time at the terminal, and we know that our brands will cater to their needs and allow them to make the most of their time at the airport. We look forward to building on our relationship with Bergen Airport and hope to contribute further to the development of the food and beverage offering in the future.”
