Heinemann launches app for duty free shoppers

Duty free retailer Gebr Heinemann has launched a new app to enhance the duty free shopping experience for travelers visiting any of its worldwide stores.

As well as allowing passengers to view products online, the app also provides enhanced features for pre-ordering items and viewing promotions. Travelers can also use the app to book a personal shopping assistant at a participating location, free of charge.

When visiting a store, travelers can use an integrated scanner on the app to view more product information. Shoppers simply scan an item’s barcode, or the QR code for an advertisement, to access further details.

Markus Ettlin, marketing director at Gebr Heinemann, said, “The launch of the new Heinemann app is a further service we add to the concept of duty free shopping. Our new service packages meet the customers’ needs for flexible and mobile services while creating additional points of interaction that enable us to understand them even better.”
