Houston Airport System (HAS), the operator of George Bush Intercontinental and William P Hobby airports in Texas, has launched a new interactive wayfinding tool that is available to passengers via its website, without the need to download a separate app.
Created by San Francisco-based software developer LocusLabs, the app provides turn-by-turn wayfinding instructions for departure gates, facilities and concessions, using any device or browser, whether it’s a smartphone, desktop PC, laptop or tablet.
Both graphic and text directions are provided for each step, as well the estimated time it will take to walk to the destination. It also offers searchable navigation, with location information and search terms for points of interest including gates, ground transportation, ticket kiosks, shops, restaurants, and security checkpoints.
