Hamad International to celebrate Chinese New Year

Qatar Duty Free has opened a themed pavilion in celebration of the Chinese New Year at Hamad International Airport in Doha. The specially built pavilion will contain a range of gifts and promotions to help celebrate the occasion including a QAR100 (US$27) gift voucher for passengers who make a purchase of QAR1,000 (US$274) and above using a UnionPay payment card. The pavilion is located behind the iconic teddy bear in the terminal’s departure hall and will remain open until February 28, 2015.

HE Akbar Al Baker, chief executive for Qatar Airways, said, “We are delighted to officially open Qatar Duty Free’s Chinese Pavilion at Hamad International Airport. This is the first year we have celebrated Chinese New Year at our new state-of-the-art airport, and I am proud of what we have achieved with this luxurious area, promoted to create a wide range of gifts for the holidays in China.”

Keith Hunter, senior vice president for Qatar Duty Free, said, “China is an extremely important market for Qatar Duty Free and every year we try to go the extra mile by providing ever more exciting promotions and activities for our Chinese customers.”
