Lyon Airport to implement robotic valet parking

LinkedIn +

Parking solutions provider Stanley Robotics has been contracted by airport operator Vinci Airports to install its robotic parking valet system at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport in France.

The robotic valets are able to park the cars within close proximity of one another, without the risk of damage, enabling the outdoor car parks to accommodate up to 50% more vehicles.

Passengers simply need to drop off their car at a dedicated area at the entrance of the car park, before collecting the car in the same place on their return journey.

The robots will be deployed gradually in the long-stay P5 car park from September 2017 as part of an experimental phase. The trial is part of Vinci’s ongoing innovation strategy to develop useful services to improve passenger well-being and comfort by leveraging innovation from both internal and external sources.
