Airport Authority Hong Kong has revealed the details of a new HK$7bn (US$900m) enhancement program for Terminal 1 (T1) at Hong Kong International Airport.

The terminal will be extended on its north side, creating additional space for more than 40 bag-drop kiosks and two baggage reclaim carousels. The project also includes the construction of a weather-proof Sky Bridge connecting T1 and the North Satellite Concourse. The 200m (660ft) footbridge will feature an observation deck and catering outlets in the towers at both sides, providing scenic spots for passengers.
