Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) has extended two service contracts for Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia for the maintenance and support of the IT system that controls the baggage handling system (BHS).

The contract involves maintaining the high-level and low-level controls of the Siemens tray BHS, as well as the supply of spare parts for the system.

The Siemens solution is the only tray system of its kind in Malaysia and transports arrival baggage from the satellite building to the main terminal and on to the central baggage carousel. It was originally installed at the airport in 2007.
