Turkish Airlines has announced changes to its executive management structure, including new appointments to the board and CEO position.
Prof. Murat Şeker, previously chief financial officer (CFO), has been appointed chairman of the board of directors and the executive committee. He has held several senior roles at the airline, including responsibility for finance, treasury, procurement and investor relations, and has been a member of the board and executive committee since 2021.
Şeker joined Turkish Airlines as CFO in 2016 after holding roles at the World Bank and Ziraat Bank. He has also served on the boards of Turkish Technic and SunExpress, and is chair of the Financial Advisory Council at the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
As part of the changes, Ahmet Olmuştur has been appointed CEO. He previously served as chief commercial officer (CCO), overseeing the airline’s sales and marketing operations.
Olmuştur began his career at Turkish Airlines in 2000 as a part-time call center employee and has since held a range of roles in revenue management, pricing and distribution. He later became chief marketing and sales officer in 2014 before taking on the CCO role in 2024.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in areas including network planning, revenue management, customer experience and the airline’s Miles&Smiles loyalty program. He also serves on the boards of SunExpress and Turkish Technic and is a member of the IATA Distribution Advisory Council.
Turkish Airlines said the leadership changes align with its corporate objectives and are intended to support its continued growth and position in the global aviation market.
