TSA selects Lockheed Martin for Western USA TEDS contract

Lockheed Martin has been selected by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to undertake its Transportation Security Equipment Deployment Services (TEDS) contract for airports across Western America.

The projects typically encompass all tasks related to the deployment of checkpoint technologies for passenger screening, as well as carry-on baggage and checked baggage screening. TSA issued a request for proposals (RFPs) for the project in September 2014.

Under the TEDS contract, Lockheed Martin will be responsible for the deployment of security technology equipment at airports, ports, terminals, cargo facilities and other locations within the Western region of the USA, spanning from Alaska to Hawaii, as far west as Guam, and as far east as Colorado. The period of performance is July 2015 through July 2020, and it is part of a wider contract with a US$450m ceiling for work across the three US geographic regions (Western, Central, Eastern).

Scott Gray, vice president of IT and security solutions, information systems and global solutions, Lockheed Martin, said, “Protecting the nation’s transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce is at the core of the TSA’s mission, and ours. We have a strong history of providing critical security services and capabilities for the TSA and look forward to continuing this successful partnership.”
