JetBlue to broaden customer experience as part of its LAX terminal move

LAX jetblue terminal change passenger terminal worldJetBlue is set to offer customers a wealth of new benefits as part of its move from Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Terminal 3 to Terminal 5, to take place on May 17.

Once the move is complete, the airline is to begin a series of redesign project in the check-in lobby. From this summer, LAX passengers will be welcomed by hospitality-trained crew members and a spacious, modern check-in area designed by Gensler, the team behind JetBlue’s Terminal 5 at New York’s JFK airport.

The plan for LAX features JetBlue’s new self-service lobby with 10 check-in positions and a further 10 interactive self-service kiosks, more than double the number available at Terminal 3. The kiosks offer self-bag tagging and bag drop functions, with JetBlue Mint customers and Mosaic members having a dedicated check-in area.

The move also means passengers will benefit from existing offerings at Terminal 5, including the Farmers Market To Go, based on LA’s historic market at Fairfax, and free wi-fi.

Joanna Geraghty, executive vice president for customer experience at JetBlue, commented, “The move to Terminal 5 means that our customers will get the true JetBlue experience as soon as they step into our new home at LAX.

“The move supports our growth in Los Angeles as we add more flights with Mint, expand our customer base and bring on board more LAX crewmembers.”
